Technical Assistance for Black-Owned Businesses

Micro Enterprise Services of Oregon (MESO) provides culturally specific technical assistance for Black-owned businesses that have been negatively impacted by the pandemic.

Small businesses can get free one-on-one technical assistance and support accessing relief funding or other business capital by completing the Business Intake Form.

 

Who’s eligible?

 

Black-owned businesses located in the city of Portland or city of Portland residents who own a business.

Businesses at all stages (idea stage, start-up, or established) can enroll. There are no income restrictions.

 

Services include:

 
  • Business technical assistance and one-on-one coaching (e.g. business planning, marketing strategy, business growth)

  • Access to capital (e.g. COVID relief assistance, business loans or grants, matching fund accounts)

  • Commercial tenanting support

  • Market research data

  • Training and workshops

  • Credit building
